Waldeck Knives is a small, independent knife-making workshop built on passion, craftsmanship and a lifelong love for the art of making knives.
How I started
My journey started while I was still at school, where an interest in knife making quickly grew into a passion for creating blades by hand. What began as a hobby developed into a craft that I have continued to refine over the years.
In 2003, I joined the South African Knife Makers Guild (SA Guild) community, connecting with fellow makers and learning from the knowledge and experience within South Africa's knife-making community.
Today, every Waldeck knife is made with the same passion that started it all: one knife at a time, by hand, with attention to detail and pride in the finished piece.
What I make
I create handmade, custom knives designed around the purpose, personality and preferences of each customer. My work ranges from rugged hunting knives built for practical use to collectors' knives created as unique pieces to admire, own and pass down.
- Handmade custom knives: every knife is individually crafted, allowing each piece to have its own character, design and personality.
- Hunting knives: strong, practical and dependable knives designed with the outdoors and hunting environment in mind.
- Collector's knives: unique, detailed pieces made for collectors who appreciate craftsmanship, materials and the individuality of a handmade blade.
- Craftsmanship: from the blade and grind to the handle and finishing touches, every part of the knife receives careful attention.
