In Lourens’s own words
My knife-making journey began in 2022 after completing a knife-making course with Francois Coetzee, a member of the Knifemakers' Guild of Southern Africa (KGSA).
What started as an interest quickly developed into a passion for creating quality, handcrafted knives. I particularly enjoy making custom knives, bringing my customers' ideas to life and creating something unique to suit their individual needs.
Although custom orders are my passion, I also make a wide variety of knives, including hunting knives, chef's knives, tactical knives and just about any other type of knife.
I am fortunate enough to be making knives full-time, and my hope is to continue doing what I love for many years to come.
One of my biggest dreams is to become a member of the Knifemakers' Guild of Southern Africa. It is a goal that motivates me to keep learning, improving my skills and pushing the boundaries of my craftsmanship.
For me, knife making is more than just a profession. It's a passion, and every knife I create is another step in my journey.
